How to Prepare a Manuscript?

Manuscripts should be submitted in English, and the presentation should be as succinct as comprehension will permit. Manuscripts are reviewed and refereed. Those accepted for publication are edited for conformance to the journal's style. Metric units should be used unless to do so is not feasible or would result in a serious loss of clarity.

For peer review, manuscripts should be submitted with the figures/tables and their captions incorporated into the same file as the manuscript text. However, upon acceptance, authors will be required to submit individual figure files and a properly formatted manuscript for use in production.

File Format: All submissions should be in Microsoft Word for Windows format. If you are using another word-processing program, please save the files as Word for Windows documents. (Most current versions of word-processing software allow you to save your files in a number of formats.)

English-Language Editing Services: Authors (particularly non-native English speakers) who would like assistance in improving the quality of English in their manuscripts prior to submission may wish to consider using an English-language editing service. Several commercial vendors provide such services, including Science Editing Experts, American Journal Experts, SPi Professional Editing Services and Nature Publishing Group. Please note that Insight Knowledge has no connection with any of these services and cannot provide an endorsement of their work. These services are mentioned for informational purposes only.

Color printing: Authors or their sponsors must bear the cost of printing in color. The cost is $600 for the first color figure and $300 for each additional color figure. We must receive payment before the proceeding of the color printing.

Guide to Authors: A properly prepared and formatted manuscript is essential for the successful processing of your manuscript. The following guidelines will help you prepare your manuscript according to the journal format. Click on the type of the manuscript to download the detailed guidelines.

Research Articles. These are full-length papers describing original research. There are no specific page limits although authors are encouraged to be as concise as possible and to use as few high quality illustrations as necessary to adequately document their findings.

Review Articles. Review articles are an attempt by one or more authors to sum up the current state of the research on a particular topic. Ideally, the author searches for everything relevant to the topic, and then sorts it all out into a coherent view of the "state of the art" as it now stands.

Methodology Articles. Methodology articles should present a new experimental or computational method, test or procedure. The method described may either be completely new, or may offer a better version of an existing method. The article must describe a demonstrable advance on what is currently available. The described method needs to be well tested and ideally, but not necessarily, used in a way that proves its value.

Short Communications. Short communications should describe outstanding new discoveries. Short Communications should follow the same layout as research papers.

Letters to the Editor are considered for publication (subject to editing and abridgment) provided they do not contain material that has been submitted or published elsewhere.
